AA vs Heisman

I originally posted this in the slider sub forum for the slider greats @canes21, but maybe there are some thoughts here.

I’m wondering what you all think is the difference in difficulty and realism between these two levels.

Do the CPU teams behave differently on Heisman? More true to style or less?

Is Heisman videogame harder or good football harder?

Re: AA vs Heisman

Personal opinion of course, I’ve played both difficulties a lot.

Heisman is harder but I personally feel it’s harder in a cheesy way. Like.. 5 broken tackles cheesy. Like you’re up 17-7 and within 2-3 minutes you’re down 28-17 cheesy. Some people like the challenge I get it.

All-American is easier but it feels more balanced. Good teams generally win and with the help of sliders (not too much help either) you can make it quite a challenge still.

TLDR - Heisman is harder but in a more unrealistic way. All-American with some slidersis my preferred choice of difficulty.

Assuming it’s similar to Madden, the CPU players actually get some attribute boosts in certain areas on Heisman so I’m personally more of a fan of AA as I like to see ratings based outcomes as much as possible.

This is no longer the case in this game nor will it be the case in Madden 25. No more ratings boosts. CPU is tougher because it is smarter on Heisman and All Madden now. Better adaptive AI, better player behavior, etc.

Unless we were lied to, the player and CPU are on an even playing field on the higher levels now.

I would have said pretty much exactly this.

When you lose on Heisman, it always feels like you got cheated out of the game and there was nothing you could have done to prevent it. When you lose on All American, it feels like it’s because you made bad calls or made mistakes on the sticks.

It feels exactly the same as All Madden vs All Pro, with the exception that All American feels like it could actually present a real challenge, which All Pro never really can. I’m still tweaking the sliders to maximise this and maintain the balance but it feels like All American could be a real option. On Madden, you basically just have to play All Madden anyway.

That being said, I’m not as good at the game as some people and prioritise realism (to the extent it’s possible) over winning or racking up stats. So All American may still be too easy for others who are better at the game or who have different priorities.

I don’t feel like this is the case at all. Heisman seems cheesy as hell. A lot harder than AA but not in an organic way. In an artificially forced way, like RB breaking 7 tackles, or qb breaking 2 sack tackles them no look passing it in really tight windows way. Or me having all 5 star 90+ OL playing 1 star team and they still getting pressure within 2 seconds way no matter how I fix my pass pro.

This is my experience too. Heisman just feels fake no matter how you alter the sliders.

But that’s just for me and my play style, also that’s how I feel based on what I personally want out of the game. For others it’s different and that’s what makes it great! Many people love Heisman.

Re: AA vs Heisman

I’m thankful with CFB 25’s AA difficulty. It definitely presents a challenge that I could never get from all American/all pro in previous football games. The teams feel true to their ratings. I lose to good teams when I use a bad team on all American and that’s what should happen. And it rarely feels cheesy

That being said, I’m skeptical that madden 25 will produce the same result. I think it will be too easy since there’s a smaller talent gap between teams in the NFL vs college football. But I hope to be proven wrong
