A look at the prospects who committed to ACC programs over the past week...

The 2025 recruiting cycle is still heating up with summer quickly approaching as some of the top high school football players around the country are announcing their respective college decisions. During the week of May 10-16, six players committed to an ACC program, with each of those players coming from the 2025 class.
Five ACC schools secured at least one commitment this week.
Pittsburgh leads the way with two, while SMU, Stanford, Virginia and Wake Forest each have one.

MAY 10: DILLON NEWTON-SHORT | WR

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-1, 195-pound wide receiver out of Chesterfield (Va.) Matoaca, Newton-Short committed to the Cavaliers over two other finalists in Duke and Maryland, giving head coach Tony Elliott and his staff their 13th pledge of the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Virginia wide receivers coach Adam Mims was the lead recruiter for the in-state wideout.
In 14 games as a junior, Newton-Short hauled in 65 receptions for 1,095 yards and 22 touchdowns on offense while recording 22 tackles (two for loss), five interceptions and one forced fumble on defense, according to MaxPreps.
"Coach Elliott actually FaceTimed me and offered me and I told him, I will FaceTime him in about an hour later, because I wanted to wait for my mom to get off work — we already knew that when they pulled the trigger, we were following up with the commitment," Newton-Short told Wahoos247. "So my mom got off work, and we added all of them to the FaceTime — we added coach Elliott, coach Mims, (offensive coordinator and tight ends) coach (Des) Kitchings, (defensive line) coach (Kevin) Downing and (running backs) coach (Keith) Gaither, the whole offensive staff — I was like, 'Look, y'all know how I feel about y'all. I've been up to spring, I've been up four or five times this year and I'm ready to make this thing official. I'm ready to be a 'Hoo."
MAY 12: ELIJIAH OEHLKE | QB

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-2, 208-pound quarterback out of Fayetteville (N.C.) Trinity Christian School, Oehlke committed to the Demon Deacons during an unofficial visit to the campus just two days after landing his first Power Four offer from the program.
Wake Forest offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Warren Ruggiero was the lead recruiter for the in-state prospect, who becomes the 16th member of the Demon Deacons' 2025 recruiting class.
In nine games as a junior, Oehlke completed 77 of 128 passes (60.2%) for 1,499 yards with 26 touchdowns against three interceptions while rushing for an additional 216 yards and nine touchdowns on 52 carries, according to MaxPreps.

Recruiting background: A 5-foot-11, 165-pound wide receiver out of Port Orange (Fla.) Spruce Creek, Kinsler committed to the Panthers over offers from Indiana, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Florida Atlantic, Marshall, Tulane and USF, among others.
Pitt offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kade Bell was the lead recruiter for the wideout, who became the fourth commitment for Pat Narduzzi's program in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
In 11 games as a junior, Kinsler hauled in 64 receptions for 1,050 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushed for another 322 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries, according to MaxPreps.

Pitt offensive line coach Jeremy Darveauspearheaded his recruitment.
Turk becomes the fifth commitment for Narduzziand the Panthers in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Recruiting background: A 6-foot, 175-pound athlete out of Princeton (N.J.) Hun School, Thorpe committed to the Cardinal over Power Four offers from Boston College, Duke, North Carolina, Rutgers and West Virginia, among others.
His primary recruiter was Stanford wide receivers and assistant quarterbacks coach Tyler Osborne, and he is the 11th commitment for Troy Taylor's program in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Thorpe averaged a whopping 26.8 yards per catch during his junior season, finishing with 26 receptions for 697 yards and six touchdowns while throwing for another 142 yards and two scores over nine games, according to MaxPreps.

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-2, 290-pound offensive lineman out of Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic, Maiava committed to the Mustangs over offers from NC State and UNLV, becoming the ninth commitment of the 2025 recruiting cycle for head coach Rhett Lashlee and his staff.
SMU co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Garin Justicespearheaded Maiava's recruitment.
Maiava is the younger brother of quarterback Jayden Maiava, who transferred from UNLV to USC this offseason.
