Onboarding people is a bit like reliving your first day at a job.Especially with this incredible group of Newbies who joined us in September; a month that holds deep significance for me. It was just a year ago that I embarked on my own journey with PagoNxt (a Santander company), and six years prior, I experienced my very first day with Santander during that very same month. As I reflect on my job anniversary, it reminds me of life’s milestones. Just like birthdays, weddings, and other significant anniversaries, it holds a special place in our hearts. We remember the people we met, the challenges we faced, and the lessons we learned. We took our first steps into the unknown, embarking on a journey that will shape our careers and our lives with a sense of infinite possibilities.Just as a long-term relationship has its ups and downs, so does a career. There are moments of triumph and moments of adversity, and each year brings new experiences, new skills - and if you are lucky - new friendships. So, if you recall how everything started, take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come. Cherish the memories of your first day, your first successes, and even your first failures, for they have all played a part in shaping the person you are today. And remember, just like any other anniversary, they are testament to your dedication, growth and resilience.Welcome #Nxters! 😉

Wow, time really does fly when you're having fun! Today marks my one-year work anniversary as the General Manager for DACH & Nordics at N26, and I couldn't be more grateful for this incredible journey.Being a General Manager at N26 has been a rewarding and transformative experience, and since I've been asked a lot about what I do, I want to share a bit about what this role entails.🌟 What does a General Manager at N26 do?🚀 Mission Alignment: One of the core missions of a GM at N26 is to align product segments, marketing, PR, and operational teams and processes with our market strategy and the ever-evolving needs of our customers. This is a constant and dynamic challenge, but it's at the heart of what we do.🌍 Market Strategy: In this role, we're entrusted with the responsibility of understanding the market, its dynamics, and its potential. Our decisions and strategies are based on a deep understanding of the industry, which is crucial to N26's success.📢 Customer Advocacy: Advocating for our customers is not just a role; it's a commitment. Being their voice within the company ensures that our offerings resonate with their needs and expectations. This has been a true privilege and keeps evolving.🚦 Risk-Based Decisions: Making decisions, especially the risk-based ones, is a vital part of being a General Manager. It involves analysing market trends, understanding the risks, and charting a course that balances those risks with opportunities.💰 Country P&L Steering: Managing the Profit and Loss (P&L) of my countries has been both challenging and rewarding. It's not just about growth; it's about financial sustainability. This balance contributes to N26's global success.🌏 European Impact: Every decision, every strategy, and every achievement as a GM at N26 has a ripple effect on a European scale. I'm proud to have played a part in shaping the future of banking for millions of customers in Europe.🙏 Thank you, N26, for an incredible year of growth, learning, and positive impact. I'm excited about the future and the continued journey to revolutionise banking. To my colleagues and team members, thank you for your dedication, collaboration, and passion. Together, we've achieved so much, and I look forward to what we'll accomplish in the years to come.

Market Specialist at Global Lending Services

I’m officially 90+ days into my new role at Global Lending. Although the core job functions are similar to the roles I’ve held in the past, I was nervous to learn the ins and outs of the auto finance world. August 2023, I was assigned a market that’s been historically a bottom feeder in terms of engagement and output—and also one of the largest markets in terms of total accounts. When I took over, I decided to pull data from the prior 3-month’s performance so I could set goals, compare, and track growth. Without getting into too much detail, here’s the growth I saw for my three main focused metrics:+26.3% in booked deals+6.5% in market participation+0.5% in application conversion rateWhile it’s been challenging, it’s been fun. And I’m continuing to learn from experience. Truth be told, I haven’t enjoyed going to work like I have at Global in quite some time. I’m thankful for a company that allows me to be myself with leaders who provide autonomy to go out and get results. Thankful for the ones who took a chance in hiring me and look forward to many more years to come. Let’s keep it moving.

Throwing it back to last year when Citi teamed up with Uncommon Schools to inspire the next generation of financial leaders through a transformative three-day workshop on financial careers. Listen to Uncommon alum, Shatavia Knight, answering a question about how Uncommon prepared her for her job in finance. This is how Uncommon works with Citi to empower dreams, one student at a time. #FutureLeaders

Some day we will tell you the whole, inspiring story about how Sense/Make was founded by two best friends obsessed with making other people see that they were focusing on the wrong problems and trying to solve them in the wrong way. (Or, as we phrased it in our brand book, looking for ways to help humanity direct its creativity toward solving the right* problems.)But for now, you can get a glimpse of what it was like in the beginning by reading this post by Vadim Feldman.*problems that are keeping you from creating real value without harming people or planet.

Accounting Student, Simplifying Finance 📈 | Ex-Lloyds Banking Group | Helping You Become Your Best Self 📖

*Step into the World of Lloyds Banking Group*As I stepped through the doors of Lloyds Banking Group on my second day, little did I know that I was about to embark on an inspiring journey that would redefine my perception of corporate culture. One of the highlights of my early days was a captivating call with the Marketing and Internal Communications teams. They had a burning passion for their work, which was evident as they delved into the topic of enhancing engagement on a mobile app related to Pensions. But it wasn't just about the technicalities or increasing profits; it was about something much more profound. In that meeting, the challenges we faced were genuinely acknowledged, but what truly stood out was the unwavering commitment to our customers. It wasn't just a business buzzword or a marketing tactic; it was a genuine desire to make a positive impact in people's lives. As a team member eloquently put it, our mission was to "Help Britain Prosper." This powerful mantra resonated with everyone present, reminding us that our purpose was rooted in creating meaningful change, rather than just chasing financial gains.I was struck by the authenticity of the company's values, and it was heartening to witness how each employee lived and breathed these principles. It became clear that at Lloyds Banking Group, success wasn't measured solely in profit margins or share prices; rather, it was gauged by the difference we made in the lives of our valued customers.Reflecting on my first week, I am genuinely excited about the many more weeks to come. The sense of purpose and the passion for positive change that pervades every corner of this organisation is contagious. I can't wait to be a part of this incredible team, contributing my skills and ideas to help create a brighter future for our customers and for Britain. At Lloyds Banking Group, it's not just a job; it's a calling, an opportunity to be part of something bigger than ourselves. And that is what makes this journey truly thrilling and rewarding.#lloydsbankinggroup #internship #corporateaffairs

    Associate Investment Advisor at YNCU

Yesterday was my 1-year anniversary of starting my financial services career at YNCU! A few takeaways so far:1. You’re Learning On A Daily BasisEvery day is a new challenge. No two people are the same, which means every member new or old requires your full attention, and sometimes some extra research or preparation you weren’t expecting. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. The main reason I wanted to join the industry was to help ease people’s concerns and anxiety about investing and finances, and at YNCU those are a few of the many things we do.2. Working with Great People Makes A Huge DifferenceThis can’t be overstated. Having great coworkers makes it easier to get up in the morning for work, makes it easier to ask for help when you need it, and makes you want to do great work for the person beside you. I have too many people to name, but everyone at YNCU belongs here.3. Credit Unions CareBeing with YNCU for the past year, the biggest standout to me is the effort put into giving members the best experience. Nothing is perfect and mistakes happen, but we put a large emphasis on ensuring we give our best effort. We really appreciate feedback and use it to be better.Excited to see what’s ahead, and as always, here to help with any of your investing questions! #investmentadvisor #greatplacetowork
