Is D passing MTSU? ›

Grades of B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, and D- will be converted to Pass. For graduate courses, an A, A-, F, will remain on your transcript.

Students can retake a course to raise their GPA. The first attempt will replace the previous grade, no matter the grade. On a second attempt, the grade will no longer be replaced, and its hours will be added into total GPA hours. More information can be found on the MTSU One Stop website.

A minimum of 12 hours per semester is required to remain a full-time student; maximum enrollment is 18 hours per semester. A reasonable class load is between 15 and 18 hours, but strong consideration should be taken under advisem*nt for travel time, job, and family commitments.

In the event you must drop a course during the semester, this minimizes the chances of impacting your full-time status. Taking and passing 15 hours a semester for 4 years will result in 120 hours, the minimum number of hours needed to graduate from MTSU.

At most schools, a D is the lowest passing grade. That means students who earn a D or higher receive credit for the course. However, some schools set special policies around D grades.

If you do not meet either of the above requirements you will need: Minimum 2.7 GPA plus ACT score of 19 OR SAT score of 990 (Evidence-Based Reading/Writing & Math)

When you fail a course, the grade you receive is often an F, which carries no grade points. As a result, failing a course can significantly lower your GPA, especially if it is worth several credits. For example, if you have a 3.5 GPA and fail a 4-credit course, your GPA will drop to 3.08.

That means more than 1 in 10 undergrads fail a class (since not every student repeats a failed class). What should you do if you fail? Consider repeating the course. Over 90% of colleges allow undergraduates to take a failed class again to improve their grade.

What is the MTSU exit exam? ›

Undergraduate students demonstrate their basic knowledge by taking a General Exit Exam the semester they graduate. MTSU's current General Exit Exam is the California Critical Thinking Skills Test (CCTST). A sample test is available to learn more about what the test is like.

MTSU will offer fall and spring terms that follow the academic calendar template included in this policy. MTSU may offer terms of alternate length in addition to the fifteen (15)-week Fall and Spring semesters, but should be mindful of calendar conflicts and federal financial aid requirements.

How many credit hours does a course/class have? In the American university credit system, most colleges and universities award 3 Semester Credit Hours (SCH) (45-48 contact hours) for the successful completion of a study class.

The passing grade for middle school students varies depending on the school district and the state. Generally, a passing grade is considered to be a grade of D or higher. However, some schools may require a C or higher to pass a course or subject area.
