List of Puyo Puyo Appearances in Media

This is a list that contains instances of Puyo Puyo appearing outside of its games.

Video Games

Sega Superstars

Puyo Pop Fever is included as one of the mini games in the collection. The player uses their body to guide the different Puyo colors into the correct basket, while avoiding bombs.

Sega Superstars Tennis

Puyo Pop Fever is included as an unlockable minigame by playing through Superstar mode.

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection

The achievement for completing Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is called "Yatta!", which is the same voice line said by Arle when completing a level in Puyo Puyo.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

In the Japanese release of the game, the pufferfish item is replaced with a Garbage Puyo, which makes the garbage drop sound when activated.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Series

A costume of Arle can be unlocked for Rin in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F.

In Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 and its expansion Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX, a mini-game named Puyo Puyo 39! is available from the start. Completing it as Miku and KAITO will unlock outfits for them, themed around Arle and the Dark Prince.

In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, Amitie's Red Puyo Hat (based on its design from Puyo Puyo Fever) and Ringo's Green Puyo Clip appear as unlockable accessories for Miku to wear.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life / Judgement (PS4)

The Club SEGA arcade at Nakamichi Street contains a playable Puyo Puyo arcade game, which is a heavily stripped-down version of Puyo Puyo Tetris, minus the Tetris elements.

Sonic Mania

Chemical Plant Act 2's boss is a round of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. The player can unlock the ability to play a stripped-down versus mode, based on the boss by collecting 21 medals from the Blue Spheres minigame. The music that plays in either scenario is a remix of FINAL OF PUYO PUYO / 2-Player Vs.

Sonic Forces

Amitie's Red Puyo Hat can be obtained as a headpiece for the custom avatar character as a pre-order bonus for Sonic Forces, alongside other outfits themed around SEGA characters.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate

The Yellow, Purple, Red, Green, and Blue Puyos appear as user icons.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central

As part of the Digital Deluxe edition, a Puyo Puyo-themed costume can be obtained for Amigo, which includes a set of Puyo Puyo maracas.
