HAMACHER Patricia M. of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses has said her good byes and gone to sleep. Her courage and stalwart integrity remained undiminished to the very end. For her, on February 26, 2000, the overwhelming struggle with cancer was finished. Her doctors and nurses enhanced the medical fraternity image with their professionalism and their kind and gentle insight.

Pat was born November 1, 1920 to Henry and Gertrude Wardrobe in Johannesburg, S.A., the third child of twelve. She is predeceased by all her siblings except youngest brother Terrance (Sheila) Wardrobe in Saskatchewan. Surviving too, is daughter Elizabeth of Toronto, from first marriage. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat had a special fondness for her niece Kathy Gilbey of Brentwood Bay, B.C.

Married to Al Hamacher, June 1, 1954 in New Westminster, she leaves behind her loving husband, daughter Rebekah, son-in-law Mark Sorley and beloved grandson, Jordan. Mother to all, she cooked and sewed and gave motherly advice to a large spiritual family acquired during the last 43 years. Pat has the positive hope of a resurrection to a paradise new earth. Her God is described at 2 Cor. 1:9 as "the God who raises up the dead." She found comfort in this Bible-based hope.

Her laughter was enjoyed by all. As author of "The Ballad of Bordeaux she demonstrated her creative, literary talent. Recently she documented the life and times of her beloved Jimmy. Here Al enjoyed a rewarding 37 year career with B.C. Tel. (CT S), retiring in 1983. Al displayed the warmth and uncompromising love that will stay with those he touched forever. Apparent to all who knew Al, his greatest joy was being in the company of his family and many cherished friends.

Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated. -296521 SIBAU Emilia, passed away February 15th, 2000, after a brief but courageous struggle with cancer. Born August 19th, 1923 in Cosizza, Friuli, Italy. She survived the horrors of the Depression and the Second World War, helping her family to cope in a difficult time. In 1954, Emilia came to Canada begin a new life, with husband Luciano.

Son Michael and daughter Lucia were born shortly thereafter. She spent much of her life raising her daughter as a single parent, after Luciano and Michael returned to Italy. It was tough, but Emilia always found a way. She is to be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and incredible hospitality, always extended to whomever was visiting. She lived in her little house, in East Vancouver, for 46 years and in the front yard she always had a vegetable garden to be envious of.

She was predeceased by her husband Luciano in 1984, her brother nilio and sister Maria. Emilia is survived by her daughter Lucy and son-in-law Lew of Burnaby. She is also survived by her son Michael, daughter-inlaw Giulietta, and grandchildren Alesio, Germano and Andrea (all of San Leonardo, Friuli, Italy). Emilia's family welcomes her many friends to her funeral service, to be held Sunday, February 20th at 6:30 p.m. at St.
