4 of the pitchers I listed have pitched against UNC in the last two games.
Correct. But you realize when I said "It’s true but neither of those guys will be pitching tonight" in the post you responded to, I was talking about tonight's game right? This whole post is about NIL, pitchers, and tonight's game. So I'm not sure why you are talking about guys who aren't even on the roster this weekend.

In 1852, students from Harvard and Yale participated in what many regard as the Nation’s first intercollegiate competition—a boat race at Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire.
But this was no pickup match. A railroad executive sponsored the event to promote train travel to the picturesque lake. He offered the competitors an all expenses-paid vacation with lavish prizes—along with unlimited alcohol.
quote:
Colleges offered all manner of compensation to talented athletes. Yale reportedly lured a tackle named James Hogan with free meals and tuition, a trip to Cuba, the exclusive right to sell scorecards from his games—and a job as a cigarette agent for the American Tobacco Company. The absence of academic residency requirements gave rise to “ ‘tramp athletes’ ” who “roamed the country making cameo athletic appearances, moving on whenever and wherever the money was better.” F. Dealy, Win at Any Cost 71 (1990). One famous example was a law student at West Virginia University—Fielding H. Yost— “who, in 1896, transferred to Lafayette as a freshman just in time to lead his new teammates to victory against its arch-rival, Penn.” Ibid. The next week, he “was back at West Virginia’s law school.”
College athletics has been impure from the moment of conception.

My point was that it is asinine for unc to throw shade at us for NIL arms when that is precisely how this whole thing operates.
I think the product and experience of college athletics is worse off now as a whole with NIL despite the fact that similar dealings were still happening previously.
The slippery slope is real, but it got saban to retire so I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

Oh this is now suppose to be an insult.
Hey did you hear LSU baseball follows the rules of the day and are really good because they commit the resources. How disgusting....

Don't know as much about NIL in baseball compared to football. Is this true?
Not as much as football but it's there.
Now, ask UNC if they've ever paid a basketball player before NIL and watch them almost choke to death trying to use a hundred thousand million words to almost say no.
Which is one of the biggest lies in college athletics the last 50+ years.
Micheal Jordan and James Worthy on the same team in college?
There are 100's more examples at UNC.

I don’t think that post is really throwing shade, just stating facts. LSU has a significant NIL advantage over most schools when it comes to baseball.

Just ask them about their African American Studies curiculum.
They should have lost accreditation based on that.

over the last 30+ years we have 7 titles and a runner up. LSU knows how to win at baseball regardless of what new or old rules were used.

We were 11th in the SEC.
We are a good team. Not a great team. We are peaking at the right time if the pitching holds up we could be a great team.
Didn’t we get Hurd and Jump and Herring before NIL.
If Hurd would have had 5 or 6 Sunday starts like the one yesterday we would have already hosted and won a regional.
